About the roleThe role involves providing a meet and greet front of house service including key/visitor management and handling lock outs, welcoming visitors and contractors to the properties, ensuring relevant security and identity checks are carried out and their presence is recorded.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide a cheerful reception service to all students and visitors and will ensure that the highest level of customer service is maintained as well as acting as a role model for excellent service delivery.
This is an onsite role, and you will be required to provide cover between the hours of 08:00 - 19:00, Monday-Friday and 09:00 - 17:00 Saturday on a shift basis. Shifts will be determined by the line manager, weekdays will either be 08:00 - 16.00 or 11:00 - 19:00 and if you work on a Saturday, you will have another day off in the week.
Summer period hours will be worked on a rota of five days in seven including Saturday and Sunday (09:00 - 17:00).
This role is available as a Fixed Term Contract or secondment for internal staff, end date 30/09/2025.
About youYou will have a strong educational background, with excellent literacy and numeracy skills, and previous experience in the accommodation, hospitality, or retail sectors is ideal. Experience in a customer-facing role is essential, as is the ability to understand, empathise with, and meet customer needs.
Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, you will have a positive and collaborative attitude, adapting quickly to changing demands and taking on challenges to ensure customer satisfaction. Strong time management skills, the ability to multitask, and a keen eye for detail are also essential.
You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, and previous administrative experience would be advantageous. Flexibility in working hours is required, including participation in a rota. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check.
