They are seeking an Assistant Health and Safety Manager to support them on an initial 6 month contract basis.
Your new role
As the Assistant Health and Safety Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Health and Safety to ensure that the organisation is a safe and secure environment for all customers, including colleagues, clients, partners, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include providing professional, competent, and consistent health and safety advice and guidance in line with statutory legislation and best practice, developing and implementing risk assessments and safety procedures, monitoring and auditing compliance with health and safety policies, and supporting the management and control of contractors on site.
What you'll need to succeed
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.- Experience in a similar role within a large, complex environment.
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing contractors and conducting site inspections.
- Experience in accident investigation and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability
What you'll get in return
You will be offered an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is paid at £22.22 per hour and this will be paid to you weekly via Hays timesheets. The salary rate equivalent is £37k. This role is an office based role 5 days per week, possibility at hybrid working from 3 months into the contract but this is not guaranteed.
