We are excited to collaborate with a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation based in Cwmbran, seeking their next Assistant Management Accountant. This organisation is dedicated to providing comprehensive accountancy and finance support across various services, including central finance functions. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the continued delivery of excellent and essential services.
Your New Role
In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with journal entries, grant monitoring, budget setting, value for money exercises, and delivering forecast management accounts.
  • Assisting in the creation of workforce staffing forecasts.
  • Generating and distributing management reports to budget holders.
  • Supporting financial accounting for various stakeholders.
  • Collecting, quality checking, and interpreting data for business intelligence and planning.
  • Assisting in the delivery of month-end management accounts
  • Performing unit costing exercises and assisting with year-end accounts closure.
  • Producing statistical returns for public sector bodies and supporting control account reconciliations.

  • Experience and Skills Required
  • Preferably experienced in an accountancy environment.
  • Proficient in using Office 365 and financial software/systems such as SAP, Sage 50, QuickBooks, and others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Effective listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management skills to handle various demanding and conflicting deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • What You Will Be Offered
  • Salary ranging from £27,000 to £32,000.
  • Flexible start and finish times, with a 37-hour work week.
  • Hybrid working arrangement, with 2-3 days in the office and the rest from home.
