The People & Culture team at AEG is seeking an Assistant Payroll Manager to help deliver best-in-class payroll services across our UK businesses.
Your Impact:
- Manage multiple UK payrolls alongside the Senior Payroll Operations Manager
- Serve as the go-to expert on payroll, salary exchange schemes, and pension legislation
- Deliver accurate payroll accounting journals and reconciliations
- Oversee payrolled benefits and all P11d reporting requirements
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives using advanced Microsoft tools
- Support seamless payroll transitions during acquisitions, divestments, or TUPE arrangements
- Create an exceptional self-service experience for employees and managers
- Build strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders to drive service improvements
Your Expertise:
- Proven experience managing multiple monthly payrolls with external vendors
- Deep knowledge of payroll legislation covering statutory deductions, workplace pensions, and benefits
- Ability to manually calculate payslips with complete understanding of their components
- Advanced Excel skills including pivots, lookups, and complex formulas
- Thorough understanding of salary sacrifice schemes and NI savings arrangements
- Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of meeting strict deadlines
- Experience covering for payroll management as needed
- Passion for promoting self-service solutions and process improvement
- Strong customer service mindset with genuine desire to work in a front-line environment

Where: You'll be based at The O2, close to North Greenwich station on the Jubilee line. This is a part-time role, where the hours can be worked over 3, 4 or 5 days. We also offer flexible start and end times and there are options to work from home.
