Job Title: Building and Construction Instructor
Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £27,000.00 - £30,000.00 per annum
Contract: Permanent: Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Building and Construction Instructor to join our close-knit team at The Grange Therapeutic School, part of Acorn Education.
Job Summary
This post involves working with small groups of pupils to get them accredited outcomes linked to the motor vehicle and construction industries. You will need to have (or demonstrate willingness to develop):
Experience of working with pupils and young people
An understanding of SEN
The ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils
The ability to work on your own initiative
L3 qualification or above in motor vehicle or considerable experience
Duties
As Building and Construction Instructor you will be expected to:
Plan and deliver the curriculum for pupils in Building and construction up to and including L2
Teach individuals and groups in a workshop and classroom environment
Support the Health and Safety of the workshop environment
Encourage pupils in personal development, achievement and integration into The Grange Therapeutic School
Support pupils at college and other provisions
Support out of classroom activities as part of a broad and varied curriculum
Ensure Child Protection and Safeguarding is of paramount importance
Follow procedures for accident, illness, absconding and absence for pupils and to adhere to all school policies
Contribute to any meetings that are called for the education and welfare of pupils
Attend department, behaviour whole school staff meetings
Conduct any reasonable duties as directed by the Head Teacher or their representatives

The Grange Therapeutic School is an independent special school for young people aged 8 -18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school is based in a Victorian country house near Oakham with stunning views and fantastic facilities to develop not only the educational, but also the social and emotional needs of our pupils. With access to woods and lakes on site, the school has an ethos about delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to, and driven by, the individuals.
