Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Transactions & Integrations (T&I) Business Development Senior Manager within Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice Area you will have two focus areas within this role - a major and a minor:

Transactions & Integrations Global Business Development Senior Manager (major):

You will be responsible for the global management of BCG's Transactions & Integrations (T&I) business, the hub for the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Carve-Out (C-O) and Post-Merger Integration (PMI) expertise within the Corporate Finance & Strategy (CFS) Practice Area (PA). The BD Senior manager will be responsible for:
  • Business development: Support leadership in market sensing, business development planning and tracking, including aligning on priority clients and offerings. Identify key BD initiatives and commercial opportunities, manage their execution, and report on lead flow and resulting revenues
  • Go-to-market: Actively drive commercialization of key offerings in close collaboration with our Industry and functional practices. Facilitate the creation of go-to-market materials, shaping the T&I selling narrative with teams across BCG. Actively working to finetune the offering with topic managers while creating best-in-class GTM materials for each of T&Is businesses (PMI, M&A, C-O).
  • Deal Sensing and pipeline activation: Actively manage BCG's proprietary deal sensing tool end-to-end, initializing reach-outs to internal teams for activation with clients, and tracking results and lead flow.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Build strong linkages to functional topic leads/product managers in adjacent Functional Practices and align on Topic/Sector priorities and specific go-to-market plans (incl. customized content needed, specific campaigns, priority clients).
  • Knowledge Management: Work closely with the Sector leadership and Knowledge Team to align on top commercial priorities. Work with the Knowledge Team to ensure key knowledge assets are up-to-date and accessible.

Transactions & Integrations Regional Business Senior Manager - APAC (Minor):

You will be responsible for managing BCG's APAC Transactions & Integrations (T&I) business, the hub for the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Carve-Out (C-O) and Post-Merger Integration (PMI) expertise within the Corporate Finance & Strategy (CFS) Practice Area (PA). The APAC region is a key growth region and a key focus for the business development senior manager.
  • Leadership support: Supporting APAC T&I Leader with strategic planning and tracking progress on goals. This includes preparation for and supporting presentations at broader BCG PA meetings and leadership meetings to drive the T&I agenda at BCG.
  • People agenda: Managing APAC T&I people initiatives, including liaising on staffing, consultant performance processes, mentorship, training, Expert Career Track & lateral recruitment, new joiner onboarding, and affiliation (e.g., cadre meetings, happy hours, next generation events).
  • Business operations: Planning, budgeting, reporting for T&I APAC. Working closely with Global T&I Director on priority initiatives for T&I business; liaising with other PA Managers and Sector Managers to ensure T&I activities linked to Industry and Functional PAs.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
  • Experience driving business development in a large complex organization, including both internal and external GTM experience
  • Previous management experience of global teams
  • Ability to manage and drive area of accountabilities, contributing to higher level agenda setting
  • Ability to lead more complex, broader projects fully independently and provide direction to others
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and non-defined problems autonomously, with full business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills, credibility
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to respect sensitive client, BCG, and people related information as personal and confidential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Collaborative team player, ability to maintain discretion when needed
The Business Development Manager works closely with the Global T&I Director, Global T&I Leadership team, and the global practice area teams on setting and executing the BD and APAC agendas. For daily business, the candidate collaborates closely with Sector and Regional Managers, Practice Area Coordinators, Marketers and Knowledge Experts as well as their peers from adjacent practices. Further collaboration with other global and regional BCG teams occurs as needed.

Practice Area Management & Operations team members keep BCG's industry and functional practice areas operating responsively and efficiently. As a member of this team, you will contribute directly to the success of our business through a number of roles, including content development, process management, marketing, meeting and conference management, and internal/external communications.
