Job Description
Capital Projects Manager required on a temporary contract basis by a large public body

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, to recruit a Capital Projects manager on a temporary contract basis for an initial period of 3-6 months with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Capital Works & Infrastructure, you will:Liaise with all project sponsors (clients) and strategically manage the delivery oversight of all capital projects from client briefings through to the completion of the project, ensuring all capital projects are completed within the budget, timeframe set and specification.Manage a team of Capital Project Officers.Procure PQQ ITT & contracts relating to capital projects / works delivery.Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.Plan, manage and forecast delivery resources in alignment with the capital programme.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should have the following:
A degree level qualification in a construction, civil engineering or building related subject;Full Corporate Membership of a professional body relevant to the building profession;At least two years' relevant experience in a business management role in the building industry/construction field, which must include:
Project Management - utilising multidisciplinary teams.Procurement of services and contracts relating to capital projects and works delivery over £1M inclusive of:

  • Production of tendering documentation;
  • Essential contractual obligations;
  • Production of tender documents to secure competitive engagement of professional services and disciplines.
  • Management of design process and project programmes.Management of project teams.
    If you do not hold the qualifications outlined above, you must possess at least 4 years' experience of the key experience detailed above.
