Job Description
Handyperson Caretaker Maintenance Schools Education Maintenance and Repairs: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Conduct regular inspections of the school buildings and grounds to identify and address any maintenance issues. Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance work. Cleaning and Hygiene: Ensure all areas of the school, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces, are clean and hygienic. Manage waste disposal and recycling processes. Oversee the work of cleaning staff and ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to. Security: Open and close the school premises, ensuring all doors and windows are secure. Monitor security systems and report any breaches or concerns. Conduct regular security checks during and after school hours. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary. Groundskeeping: Maintain the school grounds, including lawns, gardens, and playgrounds. Ensure pathways and outdoor areas are safe and free from hazards. Inventory and Supplies: Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Order and replenish supplies as needed. Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment servicing. Support Services: Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment for school events and activities. Provide support for school functions, including moving furniture and equipment. What you need to succeedPrevious experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational setting, is preferable. Other demonstrable strong practical skills in maintenance and repairs combined with knowledge of health and safety regulations. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic IT skills for managing records and security systems. Knowledge of" EVERY" would be advantageous What you need to succeedPrevious experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational setting is preferable.
