External Job Title: Category Manager
Job Summary: As a Category Manager at Amazon, you'll be responsible for the customer experience and growth of your assigned category. You'll curate product assortments, design promotions, manage partnerships, and develop long-term growth strategies. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and strong leadership to anticipate customer needs and drive category performance.
Key Job Responsibilities:- Develop and execute category strategies to enhance customer experience and drive growth
- Manage relationships with sellers and brands to expand product offerings
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform decision-making
- Design and implement targeted promotions to increase category performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and drive innovation
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product management, or business consulting
- Demonstrated experience in negotiations and delivering results
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Experience managing large data sets to drive performance improvements
- Background in vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, and inventory management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects
- Adaptable mindset with a passion for solving complex problems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of experience with Excel
- 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
