The MIKUTA brand was founded in Berlin by Jacqueline Mikuta and Klemens White, starting in 2017 with a small jewellery line, which later expanded to clothing in 2019. MIKUTA is a young, wild & free-inspired fashion brand for modern women with a glimpse of rock'n'roll. MIKUTA is currently one of the fastest-growing direct-to-consumer brands in the fashion market.
Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal. We are currently working with Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Collection cycles and soon grow to a product portfolio of more than 150 products.

ABOUT THE JOBWe're searching for an experienced and visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead the next chapter of MIKUTA's growth and brand evolution.
Your mission will be to drive Mikuta's evolution into a globally recognised fashion brand, elevating its presence and impact on the international stage.
In this role, you'll balance the art of brand building with the science of growth marketing, ensuring MIKUTA continues to resonate with our audience while driving measurable results. You'll oversee the entire marketing function, leading both the Growth Marketing and Brand teams to create a cohesive strategy that positions MIKUTA as a standout fashion player in the market.
Your deep experience in the fashion industry will be crucial as you craft strategies that elevate MIKUTA's brand identity, strengthen customer loyalty, and expand our global reach. This is an opportunity to leave your mark on a fast-growing D2C brand with big ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership & Team Development:
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, working cross-functionally to align marketing initiatives with company goals.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration between the Growth and Brand divisions.
- Brand Strategy Leadership:
- Define and execute a high-level brand strategy that reinforces MIKUTA's identity as a modern, rock'n'roll-inspired fashion brand.
- With the Head of Brand, lead initiatives to strengthen brand equity, ensuring every campaign, touchpoint, and experience reflects MIKUTA's unique voice and values.
- Guide the Brand team in crafting and executing strategies that elevate MIKUTA's unique identity and storytelling.
- Drive the success of campaigns, creative production, community engagement, and influencer/PR strategies, ensuring consistency and impact across all touchpoints.
- Growth Marketing Leadership:
- Lead the Growth team in developing data-driven strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
- With the Head of Growth, oversee the management of all digital performance marketing channels, including paid social, search, email, and affiliate marketing, ensuring alignment with broader brand goals.
- Omnichannel Alignment:
- Develop the Mikuta brand and marketing practice from online D2C only to an omnichannel function covering online, own shops and wholesale.
- Ensure seamless alignment of brand messaging and customer experience across online and offline channels as we expand into retail.
- Work closely with the retail team to integrate marketing efforts into the broader omnichannel strategy.
- Global Expansion:
- Develop marketing strategies tailored to international markets, ensuring cultural relevance and consistency across regions, particularly in Europe and the US.
- Drive efforts to establish MIKUTA as a recognized brand in key global markets, with an emphasis on omnichannel integration.
- Customer Insights & Analytics:
- Leverage data and analytics to understand customer behavior, identify growth opportunities, and inform decision-making across all marketing initiatives.
- Implement processes and tools to track campaign performance, brand health metrics, and customer engagement.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Own the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and driving a strong return on investment.
- Identify and invest in tools, technology, and partnerships that enhance the marketing team's performance.
- Extensive Fashion Marketing Expertise: Proven track record in leading marketing for fashion or lifestyle brands, with a strong understanding of the industry and consumer behavior.
- Brand Building Leadership: Demonstrated experience in crafting and executing brand strategies that elevate market presence and resonate with target audiences.
- Growth Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of performance marketing, including customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value strategies.
- Team Leadership: Experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing marketing teams across brand and growth functions.
- Omnichannel Alignment: Proven success in integrating brand messaging and customer experience across e-commerce and physical retail channels.
- Global Market Knowledge: Experience developing marketing strategies for international markets, particularly in Europe and the US, with a strong sense of cultural relevance.
- Campaign Execution: Hands-on experience in planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across channels, including digital, offline, and experiential.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to connect high-level brand objectives with actionable strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Creative & Analytical Balance: Skilled at merging creative storytelling with data-driven decision-making to achieve business goals.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas, inspire teams, and align stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Approach: Proficiency in analyzing customer insights, campaign performance, and market trends to inform marketing strategies.
- Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and build a strong, cohesive team culture.
