An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to become an integral member of a fast-paced forward-thinking Head and Neck Cancer Team (with a special interest in Head & Neck Skin and Thyroid Cancers).
Main duties of the jobAs a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most.
Job responsibilitiesClinical Nurse Specialist Band 7 - full time. Working with the Head and Neck Cancer CNS team (with a focus on Skin and Thyroid Cancers). The post holder will need to work autonomously but will be job sharing this post with another Band 7 CNS to develop two clinical pathways that offer cancer patients support from diagnosis to discharge.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside another full-time Band 7 CNS to ensure that these two clinical pathways run seamlessly; coordinating timely care and treatment for patients, offering symptom control, support, and initiating referrals to internal and external care providers. The post holder will have an opportunity to expand their clinical skills to Advanced practice level, including clinical examinations, advanced wound care, ordering and interpreting test results, and non-medical prescribing. The successful candidate will hold their own clinical caseload of patients, acting as key worker and supporting the wider MDT.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, some flexibility but must suit the service.
