As a Commercial & Investment Bank Media Relations Vice President in CIB, you will forge close relationships with the leaders of these businesses to provide strategic advice and guidance on securing impactful stories in key top-tier, mainstream, trade, and regional media outlets. You will also lead reactive media engagement. Based in London, your role will also collaborate with functional partners and communications colleagues across EMEA and globally, to tell a coordinated story that aligns with business objectives. Previous PR agency or in-house experience within banking/financial services is preferred.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with financial journalists and assist them as they write about the markets and the firm with commentary from the bank's spokespeople.
  • Help to ensure journalists have controlled access to the firm's extensive network of Research analysts and their reports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key members of the press.
  • Source comment opportunities and write pitches for thought leadership comment opportunities in the financial and international media.
  • Take the lead in curating key messaging for the various businesses to support spokespeople across the firm.
  • Manage logistics for media interviews or background conversations, and support our spokespeople throughout these interactions.
  • Assist in creating analysis and measurement reports for the regional Marketing & Communications team; create and maintain media lists.

  • A good nose for news in the financial services, trading, and market infrastructure spaces.
  • An obsessive attention to detail, a deep respect for journalism, an appetite for reading around the subject, and a curiosity to learn more about the markets, their infrastructure, and technology.
  • BA in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism preferred, but this is not essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high volume, high priority initiatives in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to make sound media judgment calls.
  • Enthusiastic with a 'can do' approach for all aspects of their work.
  • Ability to work independently to execute on projects while taking direction from multiple managers in a timely manner.
  • Commitment to maintaining the firm's high standards related to risk, compliance, and its Code of Conduct.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
