Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • We are seeking an ophthalmologist to join a practice in Guingamp, located in the beautiful region of Brittany, France. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a liberal (self-employed) status with a competitive monthly salary of €14,000 before taxation.
  • In this role, you will work alongside a professional team, including 2 optometrists and 1 secretary, providing a supportive and collaborative work environment. Our client is committed to assisting you with all necessary administrative tasks, such as setting up a bank account, obtaining a social security number, and securing your work permit (if required).
Tasks and Duties:
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions, including performing comprehensive eye exams and prescribing corrective lenses.
  • Managing and treating ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
  • Performing minor surgeries or referring patients for surgical interventions when necessary.
  • Collaborating with optometrists to ensure patients receive the best possible care, including co-management of treatment plans.
  • Providing patient education on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Maintaining detailed patient records and ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations.

Requirements: Experience and Education:

  • Clear communication skills (in German) and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and troubleshoot independently.
