Locally founded but now with a national reputation, your new employer is a leading provider in many aspects of civil engineering from sewer, rail, water, power and construction, while also working to offer services such as surveying, trenchless and environmental engineering. They are based in Belfast, Northern Ireland with offices also in the UK and Ireland. This company has gone from strength to strength in recent years, working continuously with industry leaders on all different projects across a wide array of civil engineering projects. That being the case, it has resulted in an increase in workload across the business and the company is now looking for a Contracts Manager to lead, manage and strive for profitability with the new opportunities.
Your new role
You will be leading an experienced team to help adhere but also successfully push to improve performance and compliance, while, as mentioned, aiming for profitability.You will be expected to manage and be responsible for many different areas of business, such as P&L budgets, commercial submissions and contract performance.Working across the UK and Ireland, you will liaise and create important relationships with employees from all parts of the business to implement your different strategies to continue to provide a safe, reliable and cost-effective service for all clients.Working closely with NI Water, the company also has ties to Serven Trent Water and you will focus on understanding planning principals, in particular focused around projects such as water rehabilitation delivery and best practice. You will work towards agreeing and securing timelines and prices for different contracts related to these contracts.
What you'll need to succeed
This opportunity covers a lot of different areas, so you will have a track record of working in a similar role or at a similar level within this sector. A background in the water / utilities industry would also be required.Relevant qualifications from an HND or foundation degree to even an undergraduate degree in the relevant subjects which relate to this role. Experience gained through work is also accepted and welcomed.Relevant training and tickets will be needed for you to be successful as well as beingable to act on your own initiative to continue and improve success for yourself and the business. You will be able to provide clear examples of how you would plan to drive success and achieve the best results for the business and its clients, while effectively leading colleagues at all different levels within the business to achieve this.
