Job Title: Data Analyst - Local Government experience required
Type: Temporary 6 month contract with possible extensions
Location: Benfleet (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour (umbrella) inside IR35 via umbrella

The Opportunity

Our client are seeking a skilled Data Analyst for a 6-month temporary position. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decisions and improving council services. It offers hybrid working, with a requirement to be on-site two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support decision-making.
• Conduct advanced data analyses on large datasets to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain high-quality dashboards and reports using tools like Pentana.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across all datasets used for operations and analysis.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance processes, products, and services.
• Report bugs, resolve issues, and contribute to functional signoffs.
• Stay informed about emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive innovation.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst or Data Analyst.
• Proficiency in MySQL for database querying, management, and optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods and Server Side Scripting languages (eg, PHP, Python).
• Demonstrated ability to analyse data and provide operational and strategic insights.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to maintaining high data quality standards.
• Local Government experience required

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience in using Pentana or similar tools for reporting and analysis.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing data-driven improvements.
• The ability to align data requirements with business objectives effectively.
