Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a new addition to Alzheimer's Society service delivery! The Adviser role sits within our national Alzheimer's Society's telephone service and currently operates seven days a week covering Monday to Wednesday 9am-8pm, and Thursday to Sunday 9am-5pm - it's the first point of contact for anyone calling us who has been diagnosed with Dementia or their immediate families, friends and carers. During these calls, the adviser will assess their needs sensitively, guiding them to other services and networks in their local area where necessary. At times these calls can be emotional and challenging for a number of reasons, so patience and compassion is needed to build trust with the caller and get the best possible outcome for everyone concerned.? The service also receives calls from local community services and national services seeking support and guidance on all aspects of Dementia and those affected by the condition.?Additionally, the role involves making outbound calls and providing clear, well thought out responses to email enquiries. About youThe successful candidate should be an empathetic, motivated and professional individual who wants to make a difference to those affected by Dementia.? Whilst the criteria below are not essential, they will be beneficial for the adviser role:
- Previous experience in a telephone-based or customer facing role.?
- Understanding of Health and Social Care.
- Ability to communicate to a wide variety of individuals.
- Able to adapt language stye to suit a diverse range of people.
- Active listening skill to capture and accurately record important information.
- Competent in using computers / Microsoft applications.?
- Familiar with patient / customer databases such as CRM.
