Hays are delighted to be working with one of Northern Ireland's most successful fit-out and specialist joinery contractors as they seek a design technician to join their established, in-house design team. Over the last 40 years they have built up their reputation as one of the industry's leading fit out companies, specialising in cruise ships, hotel fit outs, stadium and arenas, super yachts and luxury residential fit out projects both locally and internationally.
Your new role
Main duties will involve producing detailed construction drawings of bespoke units, furniture, architectural components and fittings in accordance to deadlines/programmes as required and to QA standards. You'll liaise with sub-contractors, in house production and operation teams and occasionally be required to provide input at site surveys.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be proficient in AutoCAD with knowledge of current UK & NI building regulations. It's desirable you'll have experience of joinery detailing. You'll work well as part of a team and on your own initiative. This role requires the ability to think rationally and in 3 dimensions in order to resolve design challenges. Wider software abilities in packages such as Solidworks, Revit, Sketchup etc. would be advantageous, but in general an interest in joinery, fit-out and design and the pursuit of a career within are essential.
