About the role

As Director of Digital, Data and Technology, this is your opportunity to drive technological leadership and innovation that helps us deliver Luton 2040: a healthier, fairer and more sustainable town; a place where everyone can thrive, and no one has to live in poverty.

As one of our Directors and reporting to the Chief Executive, you'll build, lead and motivate a high performing team of skilled technical personnel in a newly created DDAT function. We are excited to see you create a service area that flourishes under challenge, balancing technical professionalism with high quality, customer focus. You'll also have the opportunity to create an innovative and efficient Digital, Data and Technology delivery model and play a central role in helping us achieve Luton 2040.


About you

We want you to have the opportunity to bring your innovative ideas and shape a high performing service area. We are looking for a Digital, Data and Technology leader with a successful track record in creating high quality services, managing large contracts and working with a broad range of partners and stakeholders. You'll also need to be able to demonstrate how we can optimise technology to drive the organisation forward. You'll be getting out into the community, liaising with our Elected Members and fellow officers, so your ability to build relationships is critical. You'll need to demonstrate experience in leading and delivering complex innovative change and large-scale digital and data-led transformation. A strong financial and commercial understanding is also crucial to success in this role.
