About this opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Higher Education Banking team as a director covering Scotland, the North East and North West of England. In this dedicated higher education role, you'll build and maintain banking relationships with large and mid-sized universities across the sector, bringing the best of LBG to our clients from a financing, convening and thought leadership perspective.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a portfolio of large and mid-sized university relationships within the Higher Education Sector.
  • Maintain and build client relationships to drive business with new and existing clients.
  • Identify client needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources.
  • Review, evaluate and handle risk, to ensure adherence to the LBG risk framework and wider industry regulations.

What we need from you?

  • Previous commercial banking experience with a proven track record managing relationships.
  • Experience of structuring large debt facilities and capital markets experience.
  • Specialist credit and sector knowledge with a passion for delivering excellent client experiences whilst identifying ways to grow income, balance sheet and market share.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different teams and hierarchies.
  • Strong risk management and analytical skills are crucial.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector would be highly beneficial.

And it's why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We're disability confident. So, if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
