Role Overview:
As a DT Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Design and Technology department, ensuring that all equipment and resources are well-maintained and available for student use. Your expertise will enable teachers and students to excel in their projects and practical work, fostering a creative and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Maintain, repair, and set up DT equipment and machinery, ensuring all tools are in excellent working order.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to staff and students during lessons and practical activities.
- Resource Organisation: Manage stock levels of materials and resources, placing orders as required and ensuring efficient use of supplies.
- Health and Safety: Implement and adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Student Assistance: Support students with practical tasks, demonstrating techniques and offering guidance to enhance their learning experience.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a secondary school or similar educational setting.
- Strong technical skills and familiarity with a range of DT equipment and materials.
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and students.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining a safe working environment.
