Senior Project Manager - E-leaning

Hybrid- once a month travel to Leeds

Upto £50,000 DOE

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading E-learning provider for a Senior Project manager to join the growing team. This role will focus on an exciting project for one of their clients. As a Senior Project Manager, your role is to lead the end-to-end content development process for complex and high-value projects, with a focus on ensuring strategic alignment, creativity, and innovation across all stages. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensure delivery excellence, and drive operational efficiency while effectively managing budget, risks, and change. Your leadership will support profitability, enhance competitiveness, and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment across the Studio team and other business units.

This role demands a high level of collaboration with other teams and stakeholders,

particularly within the Studio team, ensuring seamless integration and execution

across all functions.

The day to day:

You will lead project activities including being the main point of contact for the customer, project planning, risk and change management, reporting both internally and externally and budget management in line with the process and procedures.

You will review products as they are created to ensure they meet the customers expectation and work closely with the team to ensure projects are delivered to time, budget and quality. You will manage customer expectations and be able to challenge and adapt to difficult conversations to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

The role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Create a team around every project, create opportunities to share ideas, to find the best solution for every customer.
  • Ensure that everyone can play their part in delivering successful projects.
  • Proactively engage with the customer to ensure they feel they are part of the process and that they fully understand each stage in the development process and their part in it. We want them to feel they can contribute and work collaboratively with us on the project.
  • Responsible for communication with and management of Subject Matter Experts and for ensuring that the relevant content is received within project timescales.
  • Responsible for the delivery of products on time, to quality and to budget.
  • Responsible for identifying any areas that put the production schedules and/or product quality at risk, and for identifying and carrying out mitigating actions to ensure that the project is delivered to time, to quality and to budget.
  • Able to use the information they have within their project plan to make intelligent recommendations and flag risks.
  • Responsible for reporting to agreed standards.
  • Be the gatekeeper for quality, if a product does not meet the required standards and the customer brief, challenge this and work collaboratively with the wider team to find solutions to ensure the best possible result for the customer.
  • Be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once and be mature enough to recognise when additional support is needed from the wider team and/or Studio managers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that scope creep within projects is identified and managed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that where commercial decisions are required, the appropriate Relationship Manager is kept informed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the commercial interests are protected at all times during the project.
  • Responsible for identifying high points and low points within projects and feeding this back.
  • Responsible for proactively identifying any actions arising from lessons learnt and implementing them effectively to ensure continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Experience of agile development processes, lean development processes or other project management methodologies.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Projects Problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience of working with creative teams, or the proven ability to use diplomacy and sensitivity when required.
  • Experience of corporate customer facing roles.
  • Analytical with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritisation and communication skills.
  • Experience of using different software application, eg, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Kanbanize.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as Project Manager, preferably within the E-learning industry.
  • Experience converting face-to-face courses into online & blended learning.
  • Knowledge of learning principals and how they apply to distance learning.
  • Awareness of how Articulate Storyline and/or other elearning authoring tools are used to develop elearning.
