Job Description
Our client a leading Oil & Gas Operator are hiring an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their onshore Maintenance team, supporting operations in the Southern North Sea.
The role involves ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical generation and distribution systems (up to 11kV) across all assets. Reporting to the Electrical Technical Authority, this position requires close collaboration with a team of engineers and graduates, providing daily electrical support to operational activities.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position based in our Norwich office, with periodic offshore travel required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Integrity: Ensure the technical integrity, reliability, availability, and maintainability of electrical distribution systems to meet production targets.
- Maintenance Management: Oversee and support day-to-day maintenance of facility electrical systems, ensuring compliance with BS EN 60079 for hazardous area equipment.
- Equipment Upgrades: Identify, design, and implement upgrades of redundant or obsolete equipment, including preparing detailed budget submissions when necessary.
- Strategy Support: Assist in the development and implementation of the Electrical Maintenance Strategy, focusing on integrity management of electrical equipment.
- Technology & Cost Management: Promote the use of best technology to enhance production efficiency, control spending, and ensure best value from suppliers and contractors.
- Project Management: Manage and support electrical modifications and project operations, ensuring effective and safe execution in compliance with the Management of Change process.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to company performance standards and HSE legislation. Conduct internal audits, onsite assurance surveys, and review completed work orders.
- Competency Assessment: Assess the competencies of Electrical Technicians and sign off against the Perenco UK competency framework.
Required Safety & Environmentally Critical Courses:
- CompEx Ex14: Responsible Person with Technical Competence
- SUEPEE & Intrinsic Safety or CompEx Ex12: Application Design Engineer
- Experience/Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Chartered Engineering Status is preferred or currently being pursued.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Power Generation industries.
