Job Description

Edenred designs and develops specific purpose solutions based on cards, apps or platforms in order to foster wellbeing of employees and performance of companies and institutions in 45 countries in the world. Such solutions, called vouchers, are implemented with a dedicated scope to match with public authorities' needs and objectives while covering a wide range of policies: nutrition, transport, culture, sport, home and personal services, care, etc.

EMEHA Public Affairs Director will be part of the Corporate Public Affairs Department, based at the head office in Paris, and he/she will be dedicated to developing specific Public Affairs transformational projects in EMEHA zone (such zone consists of 22 countries mostly in Europe and in Latin America).

Scope of the Position & Reporting Lines:

  • He/She will be notably responsible for driving and ensuring the successful delivery of 3-4 key Public Affairs projects/initiatives within the zone. To do so, he/she will work together with the local teams (mostly the General Manager and the local Public Affairs Director);
  • He/She will need to identify, understand and assess the regulatory environment in the relevant markets, especially linked to the meal voucher programs, looking to, wherever possible, turn regulatory challenges into opportunities over both the short and long term;
  • He/She will be responsible for, together with each country, defining the strategy & action plan for the key identified Public Affairs initiatives. He/She will pro-actively ensure the execution of the defined action plans, leveraging local resources (internal and external), and actively engage with key stakeholders, such as government bodies, NGOs and regulators, as well as all the stakeholders who are involved in the activity, i.e. trade unions, trade associations, academia, think tanks, journalists, civil society groups, international organizations representations.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Travel regularly and work closely with 3 or 4 EMEHA countries to drive the strategy and action plan definition for the key identified PA initiatives;
  • Make sure that the plans are implemented in such identified countries;
  • Engage and leverage (internal or external) lobbyists: preparing briefing documents and position papers with them; designing adapted tools and studies and building key relationships with several groups of stakeholders;
  • Develop relationships with strategic partners: build and promote partnerships and alliances with different stakeholders;
  • Prioritize regulatory issues and researching and analyzing business opportunities in the market: he/she must be able to understand market trends and adapt action plans to exploit these opportunities;
  • Translate company's positions into messages that will be adapted to the relevant audience;
  • Pilot additional research if necessary;
  • Liaise with the other corporate departments for coordination and support (legal, communication, marketing).
Profile

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in government relations or related areas (national and/or European issues);
  • Experience of Public Affairs in companies or Public Affairs Consulting industry, ideally in financial services and/or telecommunications;
  • Master's degree in political sciences, law, economy, journalism, or communication;
  • Strong interest in institutional affairs and strategic communication;
  • Strong leadership skills, able to mobilize and engage with diverse internal and external partners;
  • Excellent communication skills as well as consensus building skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight time constraints;
  • Ability to identify economic trends and influences;
  • Analytical thinking;
  • Self-initiated, reliable, independent, creative, and strongly solution minded;
  • Entrepreneurial way of thinking.

Other requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in political sciences, law, economy, journalism, or communication;
  • Languages required: Fluent in English; Spanish would be an asset.
