Working directly with the CEO, you will play a key role in the delivery of all engineering activities within the business and ensuring the continuous improvement of manufacturing techniques via design and process management to ensure a quality product is produced in a cost-effective manner.

Duties will include:

1. Guiding and management of engineering teams, establishing and leading technical direction across the organisation.
2. Implementing best practice procedures and rolling through necessary instruction to engineering team leads and operatives.
3. Ensuring projects, ECCs, and NPDs are communicated to production in a timely and effective manner.
4. Developing and driving strategic engineering initiatives in conjunction with the senior management team to assist in the fulfilment of company objectives.
5. Working closely with the Production and Operations team to develop a total preventative maintenance strategy where possible.
6. Proactively driving continuous improvement techniques to improve product performance, compliance, efficiency, and potential portfolio of product application.
7. Driving cost reduction through design.

What we are looking for:

A minimum of five years' experience working as an Engineering Manager & control in an engineering manufacturing environment with experience including:

1. Strong knowledge of special processes (e.g., welding, painting) including WPS.
2. Demonstrable experience in using value-added quality principles and facilitating improvement throughout the quality assurance process.
3. Working knowledge of QC tools.
4. Ability to demonstrate commercial astuteness with a strong focus particularly on managing the COQ and reducing the COPQ.
5. Strong understanding of the principles of ISO standards.
6. Experience in driving the NC process.
7. Understanding of Kaizen and lean manufacturing tools and techniques is an advantage.
8. Experience within a precision engineering environment is advantageous.
