Experienced Interventional Cardiologist Needed To Develop New Invasive Cardiology Services In T ...

On behalf of the hospital at one of the UK overseas territories, we are looking for a passionate Interventional Cardiologist who would be interested in undertaking a 2-year fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interventional Cardiologist who would like to be involved in establishing the Acute Cardiac service in the hospital.

• Developing the invasive cardiology service
• Contributing to the General cardiology outpatient service
• Being the named, responsible consultant for the small cohort of cardiology inpatients
• Providing telephonic/email support for primary and secondary clinicians needing cardiology advice
• Assisting in the support, mentorship, and providing clinical oversight to the cardiac physiologists and nursing colleagues working within the cardiology service
• Providing education and support for medical, nursing, and allied health professional colleagues
• Seeing cardiology inpatient referrals

The new interventional suite will bring the hospital's services up to full operating capacity, allowing more patients to receive cardiology treatments such as coronary angioplasty, catheterisation to treat artery blockages, and minimally invasive replacement of heart valves.

In parallel, existing Philips systems within the hospital will be upgraded with the latest technology, including the replacement of equipment in two X-ray rooms, a fluoroscopy room for real-time moving X-ray imagery, and ultrasound systems. As part of the agreement, a new CT system will be introduced to reduce downtime and delays in diagnostics while creating opportunities for the cardiology and radiology teams to further expand services.

• Attractive salary: £146,628.30 to £180,922.30 per annum (based on experience)
