Our client is a growing SME involved in the provision of services to a national organisation.
Your new role
The main purpose of the role is to provide strategic leadership and long-term planning of the business in respect of financial performance management and commercial development of the Company. This also includes the Digital/IT strategy development and implementation and driving change across the business. This is a Board level appointment with the Company Director responsibilities.
You will be responsible for the development of financial systems and the reporting structure and production of management accounting systems with the aim of providing a standard format for the Board, as well as oversee contract management, contract management and commercial development with the aim of increasing revenue growth and profitability which can be injected back into the business for the benefit of customers and shareholders. You will provide recommendations to the Board about the staffing structure and systems required to deliver the company's financial, performance and IT strategy.
As an Executive Director and member of the board, you will have overall responsibility for finance function operations, including production of timely management accounts for Board and management meetings, interim and year-end statements. You will produce annual budget and quarterly variance analysis reports for board meetings with detailed explanation of variance and ensure effective financial governance in terms of procedures, protocols and processes. You will also review the Company Secretary's responsibilities, including company insurance and advising directors on legal matters.
This role is 30 hours a week and requires at least 3 days a week in the office in Bicester.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with senior management experience at Director level in the service industry. You will have experience of taking a lead role in the development of financial strategy and have demonstrated experience of identifying business opportunities and providing data-driven recommendations informed by business needs. Experience of having developed and implemented a strategic IT strategy is hugely beneficial.
Importantly, you will be able to motivate a small team and be commercially savvy with a demonstrated interest in business development.
