Permanent Finance Officer Vacancy Cwmbran

Hays are pleased to partner with a reputable not-for-profit sector organisation based in Cwmbran as they look for their next Finance Officer. My client's mission is to deliver comprehensive accountancy and finance support across various services, including central finance support functions. Providing excellent and essential services for the public is the main goal of this this organisation, and your role will play a fundamental part of ensuring this continues.
Your New Role
As part of this role your duties will include, and not be limited to:

  • Assisting in producing workforce staffing forecasts.
  • Generate and distribute management reports to budget holders.
  • Support financial accounting for various stakeholders.
  • Collect, quality check, and interpret data for business intelligence and planning.
  • Adhere to the organisation's policy for equal opportunities and maintain safe working practices.
  • Perform unit costing exercises and assist in year-end accounts closure.
  • Produce statistical returns for public sector bodies and support control account reconciliations.
  • Assist with journal entries, grant monitoring, budget setting, value for money exercises, and delivering forecast management accounts.

  • Experience and Skills Required
  • Preferably experienced in an accountancy setting.
  • Experience using Office 365 and a financial software/systems such as Oracle, Quickbooks, XERO and others.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Able to listen and communicate well, both written and orally.
  • Strong time management skills to handle various demanding and conflicting deadlines.
  • Effective at working independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Salary of £26,000 - £32,000
  • Flexible start and finish times, 37 hours a week
  • Hybrid working, 2/3 days in office the rest from home
