Main purpose of this role

Corporate Clients - Capital Markets - Financial Markets - Digital Platform

We are seeking a Senior Fixed Income Electronic Trading Expert at VP/Director level to drive and support the expansion of our electronic trading activities.

The Digital Platform team operates within Financial Markets with a global business team made up of employees located in Frankfurt, London, New York & Singapore. This global setup ensures 24/5 support for both internal and external clients of the electronic trading business.

As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding our trading activities via electronic trading platforms, constantly widening the set of products and channels that we are active in and continuously driving change.

This role requires a strong focus on automation of processes and procedures.

You will be working with the agile IT department to roll out improvements on a continuous basis to the business.

These developments need to be made with full knowledge of evolving industry developments, requiring you to maintain contacts and your network within the electronic trading market and with venues that are key for our business.

This hybrid role with dual reporting line to the Head of Rates Trading and the Head of Digital Platform:

• To expand our trading activities via electronic trading platforms, constantly widen the set of products and channels that we are active in
• To maintain existing interfaces, keep them up to date and in line with latest market developments
• To run analysis on executed and missed trades for identification of further market opportunities
• To build close relationships and network within the electronic trading market and with venues that are key for our business.
• To facilitate the efficient onboarding of Financial Markets clients who wish to trade electronically with the Bank.
• To ensure that on-boarding and off-boarding is a fast and robust process
• To drive changes in our on-boarding/off-boarding tool used for managing client set-up processes in electronic trading
• To work closely with Trading, Sales and IT-Development Teams to ensure continuous digitisation and optimisation of on-boarding/off-boarding and platform configuration
• To ensure a high standard of expertise within the area of responsibility such that behaviour is technically competent and appropriate within policies and limits as well as regulatory requirements

Key activities

With reporting line to Head of Rates Trading:

• Monitor the trade flow in major Rates trading platforms and channels to identify additional business opportunities
• Maintain contacts and network with the industry to stay in touch with market developments
• Identify development needs resulting out of forthcoming changes in data deliveries via API's that we are connected to
• Work with wider trading team to optimise performance and price streaming to generate revenue, trade volume and attain budget targets
• Work with quants and IT teams to deliver continuous product and functionality improvements

With reporting line to Head of Digital Platform:

• Assist Sales with the onboarding of clients on both Commerzbank-owned and third-party platforms/Vendors
• Ensure both internal and external clients are supported in all aspects of electronic trading and can access Commerzbank's electronic trading platforms.
• Work closely with admin teams to ensure mapping of new clients is done efficiently and in a timely manner and is aligned with the mapping on the external platforms.
• Provide support and information to Sales & Trading, Developers and Application Management Teams as well as other areas of the business
• Design, implement and continuously enhance/improve the onboarding workflows and processes for newly introduced and existing products
• Assist with the introduction of new functionality and products onto e-commerce platforms
• Coordinate and conduct internal testing with Developers/IT of our e-trading onboarding application "Digital Product Portal" and its workflows to ensure correct functionality.
• Keep up to date with the regulatory framework Commerzbank operates in and ensure our onboarding platform is in-line with the latest policies and procedures in place

Key requirements

• University degree
• Active network of relationships with global multibank venues and technology partners used by our clients
• Ability to develop relationships with external clients, business partners, and internal stakeholders, where trust is maintained
• Understand how to drive business decisions by analyzing data, summarizing requirements and presenting the results to management and Development Teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Expertise in applying regulatory requirements based on EMIR, MIFIR, MIFID II & Dodd Frank Act
• Team spirit, risk awareness and a good sense of responsibility
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to act in a self-reliant way are essential
• Knowledge of Interest Rate Derivative products, related trade matching processes in Markit Wire, clearing processes via LCH & Eurex and also direct clearing.
• Knowledge on all kind of aspects in relation to Pricing, Risk Management, Order management, trade workflow management and STP processes, Settlement, Client analytics
• Knowledge of the IT-aspects of electronic trading is required & ability to transfer business knowledge into IT specifications for implementation
• Knowledge of the structure of Rates markets and trading venues
• Knowledge of how Market makers provide liquidity and the techniques used for successful market making.
• Understanding of connectivity, protocols and latency issues.
• Excellent ability to communicate and engage with clients, sales, IT and Electronic Communications Network - Operators
