Freelance Site Manager

Unite People are working with a specialist construction contractor to hire a Site Manager, to oversee a five months project in the North East.

The project involves the fitout of an existing industrial building, including flooring, partitions, storage, associated M&E equipment, and cold storage areas.

You will be responsible for the site setup, man-management, site safety, ordering of labour and materials, and keeping the project on programme and budget.

The role is ideal for an experienced Site Manager based in the North East of the UK, with experience of industrial and commercial shed builds, including their fitout and internals packages.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project manager and subcontractors to ensure successful completion.
• Supervise and lead a team ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.
• Prepare short-term programme look-aheads and conduct progress meetings with Project Management, clients, and stakeholders.
• Manage labour, plant, and materials delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CSCS Card
• SMSTS
• First Aid
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
