With more than 100 engineers and 25 years of experience, the Airbus navigation group is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. As part of the Galileo 2nd generation Satellite Payload team, you are going to support the ongoing developments of the Galileo Open Service Authentication (OSA) related subsystems onboard the 2nd generation Galileo satellites. Sub-system functions, payload architecture consistency, operations design and verification preparation shall be your main role of responsibility. Enthusiastic colleagues, supportive specialists and key technology developments are part of your daily experience. You will be part of the engineering organization. The project-related reporting will be to the Navigation Mission Concept Responsible.

Tasks & accountabilities
- Coordination of the hardware and software teams for the implementation of the Open Service Authentication function
- Co-engineering and flow-down of the Open Service Authentication requirements to the onboard processor unit taking into account the hardware implementation for accelerating cryptographic operations
- Definition of the Telecommands and Telemetries associated to the Open Service Authentication function
- Review and contribute to authentication service verification & validation activities such as:
- Generation of Open Service Authentication test vectors for satellite, payload and units level tests
- Definition of navigation payload and satellite levels test specifications
- Analysis of requirements coverage and derivation of verification close-outs
- Contribution to test reports
- Contribute to development of statement of compliances, requirement verification matrices, verification control documents for the authentication-service related customer requirements
- Contribution to satellite operation procedures on authentication service aspects
- Contribution to non-conformance analysis, resolution and support to non-conformance Review Board meetings
- Presentation and discussion of results in front of national and international customers
Required skills
- Master degree in Navigation / Electrical Engineering / Communication Techniques / Telecommunications /Signal Processing / Physics or equivalent
- 2-5 years of professional experience, preferably in related activities
- Deep understanding of authentication/encryption/key-management schemes applied to satellite navigation is considered mandatory
- Understanding of the Galileo navigation data layer, including navigation services, page types, dissemination layouts, encoding schemes is advantageous
- Experience in MATLAB programming for the generation of test vectors using the internal implemented Open Service Authentication simulator
- Understanding systems engineering processes and review gates, and in particular:
- Requirements compliance assessment, flow-down to lower level specifications
- Design description and justification
- Definition of requirement verification matrices and verification control documents
- Description of test plan and test specifications
- Good communication skills and team working attitude
- Assertiveness in discussions with the customer/suppliers
- Capability to work in a European/international team and with European/international customers (e.g. ESA, EC)
- Holding a valid Personal Security Clearance or be eligible to a security clearance by their National Security Administration
- English at C2 level
