Your Role

Thus far, envelio has relied on external law firms coordinated by the management team for legal support. Thanks to our significant and continued growth as a company, we have now reached a scale at which we want to start to ramp up our own legal in-house expertise. In the role as our General Counsel (f/m/d), you take over and shape this task moving ahead. You take responsibility for the coordination of all of envelio's legal topics and consult our senior management in all legal matters. In direct report to the CEO, you help shape an efficient legal set-up and collaboration with external law firms and partners. A hands-on mentality and a growth mindset are key.

How You Make an Impact

• You take over and build up the in-house legal function at envelio
• You report directly to the CEO and work closely together with the CEO, CTO, and the management team as an advisor for all legal matters
• You own, maintain, and develop our customer-facing contracts, especially for software licenses, SaaS, software onboarding projects, and custom development works
• You consult on and support the contract negotiations with potential customers
• You coordinate all of our relationships and collaboration with external law firms
• You coordinate data privacy processes internally and work closely together with our external data protection officer
• You act as our compliance officer overseeing all compliance-relevant matters

Your Profile

Perfection is a myth! We're more interested in the human behind the screen, so think of these criteria as helpful directions - we're excited to see how your unique skills might fit in.

• You have successfully completed the second state examination (or equivalent legal examination), demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and regulations
• You have at least 2 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, specializing in IT and software-related IP rights
• You are a strong communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in German and English, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts also to non-legal stakeholders.
• You combine a hands-on and solution-oriented mentality with a strong growth mindset evolving the legal function of a scaling company
• You are enthusiastic about the energy transition and scaling a software business
