The GM, Beckman Coulter Diagnostics will lead the German Beckman commercial organization comprised of sales, marketing, technical service and workflow and IT. This Senior Leader will be responsible for guiding the team to drive profitable growth of the Beckman Diagnostics business within Germany. He/she will develop and execute the go to market strategy through focusing on the public sector as well big lab group networks as well as other growth initiatives.

In this role, the GM Beckman Coulter Diagnostics will:

  • Provide vision, strategy and guidance to the German organization to address competitive and changing dynamics that result in higher growth than the market average through close monitoring and assessment of healthcare economics, market consolidation and opportunities to gain market share.
  • Evaluate the current sales structure, roles territories and activities to identify areas of strength and assess improvements to meet the current and future demands of customers to achieve future growth as well as improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience especially in the technical services space by driving standard work, synergies and best practices sustainably through strong sales education and excellent execution.
  • Achieve revenue, margin and expense objectives set forth by senior leaders by aligning and disseminating the target performance goals and ensuring flawless execution of growth DBS (Danaher Business System) philosophy and tools, sales funnel management, daily management and action planning.
  • Work with German leadership team to develop programs and culture that drive upper quartile engagement across the commercial organization to ensure improved people retention, motivation and productivity
  • Lead and develop team by establishing annual goals; hiring and training new associates; and coaching, monitoring and appraising individual performance through the use of policy deployment tools and top grading processes with a focus on kaizen and continuous improvement by designing and implementing standards of accountability for others in the organization that can be used to focus, guide and set high standards of performance for others in order to achieve business results.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong ability to motivate, inspire an organization through effective communication of a well defined vision and strategy.
  • Creative and intellectual curiosity, with strong strategic intuition. Strong appetite for proactively identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; Ability to analyze complicated issues and boil down to the key points, communicate effectively to his/her team, develop action plans and bring to a successful conclusion. Operates with a high sense of urgency and is able to implement at speed, driving accountability within his/her team.
  • Deep market knowledge of Healthcare industry with the capacity to identify market tendencies before they become trends.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and executive presence with an ability to work with people at multiple levels both inside and outside of Danaher. Can build strong relationships, quickly establishing credibility, trust and support (i.e., customers, peers, subordinates and senior management) as well as developing strong followership within the commercial organization.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills. Comfortable interacting at C Suite level and can support their team to negotiate complex deals which are profitable to the company and in line with revenue /margin objectives.
  • Solid cross-function influencing skills both internally and externally, with a strong ability to work within a matrix organization to gain buy-in and engagement.

The essential requirements of the role are:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MS/MBA preferred
  • 15+ years commercial experience required
  • Strong Commercial / Sales Management experience operating within a mid to large ($100M+) complex healthcare company that sells both capital equipment with a consumable component. Diagnostic experience advantageous.
  • Solid track record of delivering results - driving sales growth, profitability and market share growth.
  • Growth mindset and track record of gaining market share and leading strategy development and execution.
