The Opportunity
Helios X is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Innovation and User Experience to lead and manage the medical teams that work with product development, medical affairs, and content creation. This role is critical in driving clinical innovation, optimising user experience, and ensuring seamless collaboration between medical and product teams. Additionally, this role will manage relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the Medical Advisory Board, and other key stakeholders, ensuring that Helios X remains at the forefront of healthcare technology innovation.
What you'll do
- Leadership of Medical Teams
- Lead and Manage Cross-Functional Medical Teams: Oversee and manage medical teams working closely with product, research and development (physical product/compounding pharmacy teams), and customer care to ensure clinical insights are fully integrated into product development.
- Coordinate Medical Affairs and Content Teams: Supervise medical content development, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with clinical standards across all platforms.
- Provide Strategic Direction: Offer clinical leadership and direction for new product initiatives, focusing on innovation, user experience, and clinical efficacy.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the medical teams, providing mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.
- Innovation and New Product Development
- Drive Clinical Innovation: Collaborate with product teams to ensure that health tech solutions are evidence-based, innovative, and designed to improve patient outcomes and user experience.
- Clinical Oversight in Product Design: Ensure that all product features, services, and interfaces are grounded in clinical best practices and user-centred design, prioritising patient safety and effectiveness.
- Identify Emerging Medical Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, clinical advancements, and regulatory changes to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for new products or services.
- Medical Content and Knowledge Management: Ensure the creation of accurate, up-to-date medical content for use within Helios X's products, patient education materials, and clinician training tools.
- External Relationships and Stakeholder Management
- Manage Medical Advisory Board: Collaborate with and manage relationships with the Medical Advisory Board, ensuring their expertise and feedback are integrated into product development and clinical decision-making.
- Develop and Maintain External Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), research institutions, and other healthcare partners to support product development and clinical validation.
- Engage in Clinical Research and Collaboration: Facilitate partnerships and collaborations with external research bodies for clinical trials, product validation studies, and scientific publications to support Helios X's credibility and innovation efforts.
- User Experience and Patient-Centric Innovation
- Enhance User Experience (UX) with Clinical Expertise: Partner with design, UX, and engineering teams to ensure that medical products are not only clinically sound but also intuitive and user-friendly for both patients and healthcare providers.
- Drive Adoption through UX Optimization: Provide medical input to enhance product usability and adoption among healthcare providers and patients, ensuring that clinical tools are practical and effective.
- Patient Outcome-Focused Design: Ensure that all products and services are designed with a focus on improving clinical outcomes and patient experience, aligning with Helios X's mission to deliver world-class healthcare through technology.
- Strategic Leadership and Reporting
- Support the Medical Director in Strategic Initiatives: Assist the Medical Director in developing and implementing the broader medical strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Monitor and Report on Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to clinical innovation, product development, and user experience, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
What you'll bring to HeliosX
Education
Medical Degree (MD, MBBS) or similar healthcare/science degree
Experience
8+ years of experience in any of: clinical practice, medical affairs, or health tech, with a focus on innovation, product development, strategy or partnerships
Proven experience leading teams, particularly those involved in product development and cross-functional collaboration.
Skills and Competencies
