Job Description
Global Sustainability Manager
Lewis Davey is recruiting for a Global Sustainability Manager to join a leading global organisation and their commitment to minimising their impact and emissions. A key role working to obtain, analyse and present data needed for company disclosure, reporting and to assist in strategically planning and driving targets set relating to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and decarbonisation targets. This role will suit someone who holds a broad knowledge of sustainability and wider ESG issues for the built environment.
Role
- Input and feedback on each principal business' respective Net Zero plans twice annually.
- Utilise the digital systems in place to enable tracking and management Group Net Zero progress against SBTi decarbonisation and Net Zero goals
- Support up-dates of the Group Net Zero Transition Plan as required
- Key initial focus into Apac's GHG data and decarbonisation requirements, support the region to identify and highlight key actions needed, supporting onward project management of agreed actions
- As above then for each of the remaining principal businesses
- Support transition of digitisation of ESG KPI's, going beyond GHG reporting, working with each principal businesses to input/capture data using the team's recently procured ESG software
- Ensure that Environmental Reporting Officers (EROs) who up-load ESG KPI data receive any training required to undertake data input to a high standard.
- Support wider sustainability team with year-end reporting data collection, reviews and write up as required.
- Support transition to transition to a automated way to digitally capture year end data points, moving away from manual systems.
- Undertake review of existing and future legislation and regulation and familiarise with changes, working to summarise these as required.
- Report to management on the progress made by each Principal Business on, for example, % of suppliers /vendors engaged via the chosen supplier portal and associated changes from the previous period and % supplier spend represented.
- Work to enable the principal business with the measurement and reductions in scope 3 emissions for the supply chain.
- Regular catch-up sessions and query response with each regional ESG lead and country heads, if required
- Assist with annual responses to surveys e.g. CDP and FTSE4Good
- Supporting global pitch responses and shareholder queries.
- ESG data reviews, reporting writing and case study write ups
- Presentations on performance as needed to management
- Support external website up-dates and intranet content management, as required
- Supporting Group compliance with regulation e.g. CSRD, TCFD and Mandatory GHG reporting etc
- Support on external or internal audits undertaken
- Manage projects relating to net zero targets aligned to Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
- What you'll need to succeed
Excellent data analysis skills
Resourceful team worker, with ability to be autonomous in their specialist fields.
Ability to develop lasting and effective relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Able to influence stakeholders in the business and to adapt if required
BSc/BA Degree in Sustainability, Environment, Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant experience within the Sustainability field.
Completely IT literate with high level of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Experience of working with decarbonisation and sustainability data reporting
Experience of working with energy /carbon and wider sustainability data and ability to create strategic solutions for net zero, supporting their application
