Group Accountant

Our Public Sector client is currently looking to recruit a Group Accountant on an initial 3-6 month contract, looking to start ASAP. The role is to contribute to the provision of an efficient, effective and comprehensive business and finance management service to the council, partners and external clients within a local authority.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Qualified Accountant and member of CCAB
• Experience of resolving technical accountancy issues within a large organisation, preferably public sector and through a full financial cycle.
• Experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting financial management reports to audiences ranging from those with minimal financial expertise through to key decision makers.
• Extensive practical experience of using spreadsheets and financial systems in the manipulation of data to develop financial models and information systems.
• Demonstrate considerable technical and operational experience in a minimum of two of the following:

1. Management and support of financial systems
2. Complex budget management (revenue or capital) through a full financial year or life cycle
3. Project accounting work - producing business case and benefit realisation
4. Producing and analysing complex financial reports
5. Completing statutory accounts for a complex organisation
6. Completing key calculations around capital financing / prudential indicators

£450 to £500 Daily Rate
Full Time
3-6 Month Contract Initially
Bristol - Mainly remote working, onsite requirements as and when needed
