- Lead and manage the vertically structured and cross-departmentally integrated manufacturing engineering teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's successful professional growth.
- Develop and drive the maturity of key processes, fixture designs, material handling, bonding technologies, manufacturing methods, packing, safety protocols, stabilization and maturity of standards and key KPI performance and guidance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automations to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
- Work closely with product development to guide and support an optimal transition from design to operations by implementing Design for Manufacturing and stability protocols.
- Translate the company goals into a value stream chain and report the progress to superior managers.
- Leverage lean methodologies, business acumen, and critical thinking to effectively scale and process improve workflows.
- Responsible for the final manufacturing documents such as BOM, Work Instructions, test plans, PFMEAs, Engineering Change Orders, IQ, OQ, PQ, etc.
- Drive the team's direction towards achieving goals while managing headcounts, training, and future development.
- Define and manage a capital investment plan based on KPIs such as ROI, future expansion, and strategic goals.
- Take ownership for the health and safety of your employees by implementing adequate measures.
What you bring with you
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of work experience in the industrial manufacturing sector, preferably in serial/mass production.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing field.
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Previous experience in production manufacturing and related areas such as SMT manufacturing, CNC manufacturing, assembly, metrology, and coating/bonding.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to question the status quo while maintaining prescribed quality standards.
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity while implementing lean practices.
- Ability to streamline or implement structures that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
- Interest in shaping a growing company in the cutting-edge sector of laser communication with strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
- Good communication skills to effectively apply your leadership skills. Proficiency in German and English is preferable.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of direct experience in technical high-volume manufacturing.
- Excellent computer skills (email, Microsoft Windows, ERP/MRP/MES systems, iOS, executing custom developed software).
- Provide process and design improvement suggestions.
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and a fast-paced work environment.
- Effectively communicate (verbally and written) with engineering and production.
- Foster a team environment through collaborative leadership. Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production is desirable.
- Knowledge of high cleanliness protocols.
