Head of Marketing (Maternity Leave)

We're looking for an experienced and talented Head of Marketing to Legal Benchmarking Group (LBG) - maternity cover, a portfolio company of Delinian (formerly Euromoney).

Aligned with the business strategy set by the Managing Director, LBG, you will have responsibility for devising and delivering a marketing strategy across 4 streams to drive revenue beyond £10m in benchmarking and awards, £2m in client marketing solutions, £2m in subscriptions, and £1m in events.

You will have extensive experience in B2B benchmarking and accreditation businesses with a track record of revenue growth, overseeing the delivery of awareness and lead generation campaigns for over 35 Awards and Rankings programs across 11 LMG brands.

You will also oversee our 'practice of law' subscriptions and client solutions marketing activities, working closely with our brand publishers and Director of Renewals & Customer Success to ensure customer ROI and improve renewal rates.

You will have an entrepreneurial, results-orientated approach to marketing and bring innovative ideas to the table. You'll empower and mentor a team of up to 6 marketers to adopt this mindset, evolving the structure to optimise their skills and meet the objectives of the business. You will also have line management of the Head of Design and will come armed with a strong sense of design, an ability to effectively articulate design concepts, and have an eye for detail and consistency in branding.

As a commercially-minded marketer, you will be responsible for measuring marketing success against annual targets, and longer-term growth targets working closely with The Commercial and Renewals Directors, and Head of Research and delivering insights to help shape the direction of travel. You'll be confident interfacing with senior stakeholders and communicating marketing concepts with a commercial lens.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  1. Define audience segments and ensure product positioning, and value propositions resonate with our audience.
  2. Increase brand awareness across LBG's products, strengthening the story between its products and offerings (rankings, awards, subs, and events).
  3. Working in tandem with the commercial and research teams, enhance our go-to-market strategy to improve market penetration and engagement.
  4. Develop a best-in-class framework for how we market our awards and research/surveys to build brand equity and generate commercial opportunities.
  5. Improve the submissions process to enable better targeting, conversions, and a smoother user experience.
  6. Increase YoY submissions across all awards and rankings products.
  7. Support the delivery of £2m in content marketing revenue. Be comfortable interfacing with commercial clients and confident in speaking across a range of digital channels, including email, paid media, and social media.
  8. Work with the team to improve marketing ROI and decrease CPAs.
  9. Oversee the management of subscriptions marketing programs to drive and capture demand and convert in-market prospects.
  10. Oversee events marketing team and work with senior stakeholders to integrate an efficient marketing program to deliver delegates/attendees.
  11. Manage marketing budgets and ensure they are deployed to maximum efficiency.
  12. Regularly present results and learnings to commercial stakeholders.
  13. Drive a culture of innovation, testing, and information sharing.
  14. Lead a team of marketers, supporting on career development, goal setting, and quarterly performance reviews.

Experience & Skills

  1. Minimum 5 years B2B marketing experience in accreditation and benchmarking, subscriptions, client marketing, and events.
  2. Experience working with sales teams.
  3. Significant experience in analysing data and the ability to convert data into meaningful insight.
  4. Significant experience working in Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  5. Significant experience in owned, earned, and paid marketing channels.
  6. IT Literate; MS Office, advanced Excel, required.
