My client is a leading Legal membership organisation currently recruiting for a Marketing Manager.

Job Description

  1. Membership recruitment and retention:
  • Designing and delivering consistent dedicated member recruitment campaigns throughout the year.
  • Ensuring our membership proposition is as attractive as possible to existing and potential new members.
  • Identifying opportunities to reach potential members implementing campaigns and marketing activity accordingly.
  • Working with other team members to ensure we are promoting the benefits of membership through other products, including training, events, and publications.
  • Ensure membership retention activities are delivered to a high standard, in line with industry best practice.
  • Ensure retention processes support the member journey and increase membership lifetime value.
  • Accurate reporting of membership numbers and income, including monthly KPIs, to measure the success of recruitment and retention activity.
  • Act as a key part of the team responsible for our new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring it supports the activity outlined above.
  • Design and delivery of an organisational marketing strategy:
    • Lead the promotion of products and services to current and potential new members, using a range of digital and offline channels.
    • Build and develop marketing partnerships with other organisations in the sector to promote our products and services.
    • Work with colleagues to identify products and services to be incorporated into recruitment activity to present a holistic view of the membership offer.
    • Identify and provide input on new initiatives, products and services, to maximise their member recruitment potential.
    • Work with the Sponsorship Co-ordinator to identify opportunities for cross-promotion, as well as additional opportunities for sponsorship of events.
  • Training, Events and Publications:
    • Working with the Marketing Manager, lead the organisation of (and grow) the annual member awards programme including nominations, judging process and the gala awards evening.
    • Working alongside the Professional Development function to promote events and training including our flagship National Conference.
    • Work alongside the Head of Editorial to lead the promotion of our publications; including paid-for products, and those included as part of our membership offer, such as our member magazine, The Review.
    • Actively support our training, events and publications teams to secure their income targets.
  • Branding and design:
    • Together with the Marketing Manager, act as brand champion, ensuring our look, feel and tone are in keeping with our brand and that our visual assets are used properly.
    • Lead the production of marketing collateral.
    • Work with colleagues to ensure products, including training, events, publications and accreditation have appropriate branding.
    • Develop and manage brand partnerships, as necessary.
  • Online and digital marketing:
    • Work to ensure our website effectively markets membership benefits to existing and potential new members.
    • Update the website regularly with images, news, video and new copy as appropriate, in liaison with colleagues.
    • Ensure products and services are being effectively promoted across our social media platforms.
  • Management and Leadership:
    • Effectively manage and develop our Marketing Manager, supporting them on delivery and building their skillset.
    • As part of the Heads of Team group, play an active role in the day-to-day running of the organisation.
    • Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting of membership income.
    • Regularly presenting to our Board on membership growth and other matters within the Marketing remit.
    • Work closely with members, including acting as staff lead on specific Committees, to ensure our activity maximises the benefit of member expertise.
