The Estates and Facilities Department are seeking a new Head of Operations (Estates & Facilities) to lead our operational teams as we embark on a period of excitement and change in our Trust! Our PFI ends in 2028 and work is underway to shape our future and the Head of Operations (Estates & Facilities) will be a significant contributor on this journey.

Working closely with the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities and the Estates & Facilities Senior Management team, the Head of Operations will contribute to ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trusts are achieved with specific focus on the provision of the Estates & Facilities management services.
The Head of Operations will be responsible for the management of the E&F services across the whole estate including PFI contracts and NHS Property Services contract, providing assurance on compliance, financial oversight, management of cost improvement programme and regular performance reporting.
The role will be part of the Estates & Facilities Senior Management team that will lead and provide direction for the team, and work across the organisation to improve the care of our service users and our operational services.
The role incorporates the operational areas including Estates & Infrastructure Maintenance, Ground's maintenance, Capital Project Management, Cleaning, Catering, Contractor Management & Planning, External Cleaning, Window Cleaning, and Pest Control.
This post will be required to be based on site with ad-hoc remote working arrangements to be considered.

The Head of Operations will also actively work within the senior management team on the future direction of the Estate, and any subsequent changes, adaptations or developments needed as the end of the PFI contract approaches in 2028.
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for a compliant, professional, high-quality, cost-effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation, its patients, and staff.
The post holder will effectively manage the operational performance of the Estate, implementing performance monitoring of the contract, with performance being measured against contract requirements, and through engagement with services.
The post holder will have line management responsibility for the Hard FM Service Manager, Soft FM Service Manager, Commercial Services Manager and two Project Managers who lead the associated in-house service teams, helpdesk, administration, and contractors to ensure a quality service is provided.
The post holder will report on the Estates and Facilities Management performance to provide assurance on the effective financial and non-financial delivery of the estate.
Person specification Qualifications- Degree Level qualification in a relevant subject
- Excellent non-verbal and verbal communication skills
- Significant knowledge and experience of Estates and Facilities Management in the NHS or similar environment
- Extensive Line Management experience within a FM or similar role
