Job Title: Head of Sales Strategy
Department: Commercial
Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer
Location: London or Manchester

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Sales Strategy is a pivotal senior leader role within Channel 4, and part of the Commercial Senior Leadership Team.

The role has responsibility for leading the development and execution of client-centric strategies (agency and advertiser) that drive revenue growth and enhance market share.

It will have responsibility for the following areas:

  • Advertiser and agency strategy
  • 'Go To Market' (Our narrative, sales collateral and sales voice in the market)
  • Creative and content solutions
  • Commercial marketing
  • Sales enablement (Enabling the sales team to do their job to the best of their ability. Focusing on the sales approach and competence/sales ability)
  • Business Management
The role demands a deep understanding of the media landscape, strong commercial acumen, and exceptional leadership skills. It brings an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Channel 4's commercial success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement and embed a comprehensive client strategy that aligns with Channel 4's overall business objectives.
  • Lead a team of client, creative and content solution strategists, commercial marketing and sales enablement professionals to deliver exceptional results.
  • Lead the commercial business management team to support the delivery and continuous refinement of the Channel 4 sales plan.
  • Support the ongoing proficiency, competence and GTM of the sales team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
  • Identify and pursue scalable creative and content solution opportunities which drive advertiser growth and are heralded as industry best practice.
  • Lead the team to develop and execute innovative commercial marketing campaigns that promote Channel 4's brand and content.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across commercial, content, and consumer marketing to ensure alignment and maximise results.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to ensure Channel 4 remains at the forefront of the market.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Has a proven track record of success, and relevant experience, across client strategy, creative & content solutions, and commercial marketing within the media industry.
  • Can demonstrate a progressive approach and know how in embedding, supporting and developing sales enablement across a commercial team.
  • Has a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape with a particular expertise in TV and/or digital.
  • Brings a strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Has extensive experience of managing large teams of differing specialisms.
  • Has a proven track record of exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Brings excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can evidence their proven ability as a strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Has a passion for innovation and is able to drive continuous improvements through their teams.
  • Is aligned with and committed to the C4 remit.
