Job Description
Health & Safety Advisors - exciting opportunity in Dyce, Aberdeen! Join a leading company specialising in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of industrial gas turbines, compressors, and rotating equipment. This is a 6-month fixed-term Health & Safety Advisor position with the potential for extension. Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning & Organising- Providing guidance on all health and safety-related matters.
- Maintaining the integrity management process and coordinating statutory inspections.
- Keeping the Health and Safety Legal Register up to date.
- Maintaining registers for Risk, COSHH, Fire, PUWER, DSEAR, Noise, Face Fit, Asbestos, and First Aid.
- Overseeing the PPE and RPE equipment registers.
- Coordinating the Health Surveillance programme.
- Preparing and presenting relevant Health and Safety information at annual management review meetings.
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs.
- Developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
- Updating and managing the integrated management system manuals.
- Providing advice and support on root cause investigations.
- Registering and tracking all QHS&E incidents, ensuring progress is monitored and corrective actions are implemented.
- Assisting with internal QHSE audits.
- Reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements for maintenance work.
- Advising on Health and Safety aspects related to major facility projects.
- Ensuring timely development and review of Fire, DSEAR, Risk, and COSHH assessments, providing guidance on their implementation.
- Actively supporting Environmental and Decarbonisation initiatives.
- Encouraging and contributing to Lean and Six Sigma projects.
- Ensuring administrative tasks are completed effectively and on time.
- Identifying and promoting improvement opportunities that enhance safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
- Minimal travel required for this role.
Requirements:
Key Skills & Technical Requirements- Internal auditor - ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
- Fire Risk Assessor.
- Noise Risk Assessor.
- Detailed knowledge of all company Accreditation Standards.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Literate in MS applications.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of company IT systems.
