For registered Band 6 Health Visitors, this post offers a £2,500 premium payable upon commencement of employment (Terms & Conditions apply).
Main duties of the job- Clinical: Deliver the Healthy Child Programme, provide expert advice, assess community needs, and ensure appropriate referrals and care for children and families.
- Quality & Performance: Contribute to performance monitoring, ensure accurate record-keeping, participate in audits, and contribute to policy development.
- Leadership & Management: Collaborate with colleagues, supervise staff, undertake managerial duties, and contribute to service development.
- Professionalism: Maintain up-to-date knowledge, adhere to professional guidelines, and participate in professional development.
- Teaching & Learning: Support staff development, act as a preceptor, and provide training to colleagues.

Person Specification Education/Qualification- Registered Nurse/ Registered Midwife with current UK NMC registration.
- Registered Health Visitor (SCPHN).
- Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training.
- Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards.
- Be able to co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets.
- Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and inter-agency working.
- Experience of organising and managing own workload and that of others.
- Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care and writing care plans.
- Experience in providing practice-based learning support to others.
- Experience of evidence-based care.
- Experience of supervising staff / students.
- Knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice.
- Knowledge of current health legislation including Change for Children agenda, Children's Plan etc. .
- Current knowledge of child protection issues.
- Knowledge of quality issues, the audit process and clinical governance.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to travel round the locality car/bike/public transport/foot .
- Able to provide evidence of where you have demonstrated the Trust's Values and Behaviours.
- Able to meet the required IT Skills for the post.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
