Job Description
Overview:
The Keedwell Group is seeking a Driver Trainer dedicated to driver development, training, and compliance. This role will also involve investigating driver infringements and managing the company's disciplinary process when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Driver Development and Training:
Provide support and training to drivers to help them achieve optimal performance.
Focus on improving fuel efficiency (MPG) and reducing vehicle damage.
Utilise existing training tools and create or update training modules and materials.
Introduce new training methods as required.
Compliance and Monitoring:
Identify drivers requiring additional support or monitoring.
Conduct driver assessments and inductions for new drivers.
Ensure all licences and qualifications are valid and up to date.
Disciplinary Process:
Investigate instances of infringements, incidents, accidents, or negligence.
Follow the company's disciplinary procedure, from investigation through to disciplinary actions.
Provide ongoing support or corrective training where necessary.
Working Hours and Flexibility:
Primarily Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday morning.
Flexibility is required to accommodate early or late shifts to follow up with drivers, with adjusted start and finish times as needed.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Current C+E Licence with experience driving HGVs.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective people management and support.
Working knowledge of Tachograph Regulations, including driving hours and legal break requirements.
Desirable (but not essential):
Transport Manager CPC.
Previous supervisory or team management experience.
Additional Skills:
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to create and adapt training materials.
A proactive approach to driver development and compliance.
