HVDC Cable Engineer

Our Blue Chip Utilities client is looking for a System Design Specialist/HVDC Cable Engineer. This role will be mostly remote with occasional trips to Reading/Field based and must be via an Umbrella Company.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrable experience on an expert level in the design, specification, witnessing testing and installation of HVDC cables.
• The ability and experience to technically assess issues, problems and/or faults related to HVDC cables alongside an in depth understanding of the technical requirements for design, installation, operation and maintenance of HVDC cables.
• The System Design Specialist will be ultimately responsible for the technical feasibility and detailed technical assessment/design of the HVDC and AC cable systems - with experience in land and submarine HVDC transmission systems. Ideally worked on one or more of HVDC interconnectors, and/or OFTOs
• Experience of using cable design packages
• A good knowledge of the latest technology in HVDC and AC cable systems, specifically offshore submarine HVDC cables.
