Job Description

IAM Engineer | Long-Term Project | Financial Enterprise

As an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the functional management of IAM processes within the Asset Management division. You will support business and agile teams in managing and identifying user access, resolve authorization issues, and ensure that IAM processes run smoothly and securely. Your responsibilities will range from daily operational tasks to improving current processes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional IAM Management:
    Oversee and manage IAM processes to ensure that user identities and access rights are effectively administered in line with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

  • Access & Authorization Support:
    Work with business and agile teams to identify, manage, and resolve access and authorization issues, ensuring proper role-based access is maintained.

  • Control and Compliance:
    Perform regular audits and controls (eg, ISAE3402, DNB RSA) to ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks, supporting external and internal audit processes.

  • Identity Management:
    Execute operational tasks including the implementation of authorized user identity data in target systems, setting up Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and leveraging Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC) where applicable.

  • Process Analysis & Improvement:
    Continuously evaluate and enhance existing IAM processes, identifying areas for automation and increased efficiency.

  • Daily Operational Tasks:
    Perform daily checks and verifications of IAM processes, taking prompt action on user access requests and system alerts.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    Work closely with internal teams (eg, agile, development, IT) and external stakeholders to implement and manage IAM processes, including privileged access management.

  • Training & Guidance:
    Provide training and presentations to end users, agile teams, and other stakeholders on IAM processes, best practices, and system usage.


Key Tasks:

  • Support user management, business role management, and reporting within the IAM framework.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of IAM processes.
  • Guide business teams in adopting IAM principles and processes.
  • Prepare and support compliance tasks for audits and regulatory checks.
  • Implement and monitor IAM processes with a focus on automation and standardization.
  • Coordinate with agile teams to manage and onboard applications into IAM systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience:
    At least 5 years of experience with IAM processes and/or systems within complex IT environments, with hands-on experience in identity management technologies, preferably SailPoint.

  • Technical Expertise:
    Strong understanding of IAM solutions, with in-depth knowledge of information security concepts, access control, role-based access, and segregation of duties principles.

  • Audit & Compliance Knowledge:
    Thorough knowledge of security, control, audit, and compliance requirements, especially around access management and segregation of duties (eg, ISAE3402).

  • Process Automation:
    Experience in automating IAM processes and implementing standardized procedures across systems.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports, presentations, and training for diverse audiences.

  • Attention to Detail:
    Must be meticulous and accurate in carrying out tasks related to user access management and control.

  • Industry Knowledge:
    Familiarity with the processes and systems within the asset management industry is preferred.


Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and familiarity with Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC).
  • Strong knowledge of concepts such as self-service, automated approval workflows, attestation, recertification, and separation of duties.
  • Experience working in agile environments and collaborating closely with development teams to implement enhancements in IAM tools.
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive IAM initiatives forward.
