We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Analyst to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will support decision-making and drive improvements across the Trust by analyzing data, processes and requirements, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights. Working closely with stakeholders within the ICT team and across the trust, you will ensure that processes, systems, and services are aligned with our strategic goals of delivering world-class healthcare.

Main duties of the job
  1. Gather, analyse and document requirements from trust staff or ICT teams, in order to design robust ICT solutions and deliver smooth roll-out.
  2. Effectively communicate requirements to various technology teams, ensuring alignment and successful implementation of solutions.
  3. Assess the impact of any design decisions and communicate and escalate accordingly.
  4. Prepare software test scripts which will be based on requirements and business processes.
  5. Execute test scripts and maintain testing documentation.
  6. Contribute to the design and configuration of existing functionality to meet user-requirements.
  7. Contribute to project and implementation plans.
  8. Support the transition of solutions into production state by generating user training documents.
  9. Promote the use and development of ICT systems and solutions among the clinical community within the Trust.
  10. In liaison with medical colleagues and other healthcare professionals, identify opportunities where ICT can support the clinical process.
  11. Research and understand NHS standards and statutory national requirements relevant to specific projects.
  12. Develop strong working relationships with Trust staff and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholder groups.
  13. Identify effective working practices and professional standards within the ICT department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  1. This role is essential in driving digital transformation and ensuring the successful integration of ICT solutions that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
  2. Promote the use and development of ICT systems and solutions among the clinical community within the Trust.
  3. In liaison with medical colleagues and other healthcare professionals, identify opportunities where ICT can support the clinical process.
  4. Gather, analyse and comprehensively document requirements for system developments from stakeholders.
  5. Gather, analyse and comprehensively document requirements from the various ICT stakeholders in order to provide a robust ICT solution.
  6. Analysis of current state clinical workflow and propose changes in working practices to maximise the benefits of clinical systems functionality.
  7. Actively engage and seek clinical and administrative users input into any proposed new functionality.
  8. Effectively communicate requirements to the Software development team.
  9. Prepare software test scripts which will be based on original requirements and business processes.
  10. Execute test scripts and maintain all testing documentation.
  11. Contribute to project and implementation plans.
  12. Design and configure existing functionality to meet user-requirements.
  13. Assess the impact and potential risk of any design decisions and communicate and escalate accordingly.
Person specification Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience of performing Business analysis within Healthcare ICT.
  • Experience of applying a variety of analytical techniques to information and quantifying result integrity based upon assessment of sources and techniques applied.
  • Experience of consulting activities and techniques including facilitating stakeholder groups.
  • Experience of process analysis, assessment and change including financial, cultural, technological, organisational and environmental factors. Further experience of establishing customer requirements and identifying how these map to process requirements.
