Job Description

Join us as an Impairment Assessment Analyst

  • We'll look to you to support the monitoring and reporting of Expected Credit Loss (ECL)
  • You'll be developing appropriate risk and control frameworks for our franchises and functions to use to discharge their responsibilities
  • Join a team with a collaborative ethos and a commitment to innovation and professional development

What you'll do

As an Impairment Assessment Analyst, you'll be supporting the evaluation and assurance of the adequacy of ECL provisions held on balance sheets against the underlying risk of credit loss, including post-model adjustments under agreed governance requirements.

Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Developing insight and analysis on the drivers of the monthly Impairment profit and loss charge that are discussed with key stakeholders
  • Executing the key processes that interact with the automated ECL calculation within a strong control framework, including post-model adjustments, life-time risk of default and manual write offs
  • Fulfilling the requirements of our agreed control processes including IFRS9, SOX and key control requirements
  • Engaging openly with internal and external auditors
  • Liaising with the risk community to ensure a good understanding of the ECL model inputs with a view to identifying any modelling weaknesses that may require post-model adjustments

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone highly numerate, preferably with an associated academic qualification. You'll need to be skilled and hold a track record in a risk or finance environment.

Additionally, you'll need:

  • Data analytics experience, including credit risk management metrics and performance
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience of engaging and influencing colleagues in wider functions or disciplines
  • Knowledge of risk management control frameworks, including SOX control processes relevant to credit risk management
