Incident Manager

On behalf of the MOD we are looking for an Incident Manager (Inside IR35) for an 11 month contract. Hybrid working based in Corsham.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

As an incident manager you will oversee incidents and restore normal operations as quickly as possible, with the least impact on the business or the user. You will also help define process and create new solutions.

As an Incident Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

* Act as the Authority to ensure our teams resolve technical problems as quickly as possible.
* Drive first-time resolution by ensuring industry partners and stakeholders are troubleshooting and diagnosing or escalating faults (or both).
* Build a proactive approach working with other government departments to build a framework of interoperability and drive combined ways of managing and resolving incidents.
* Share knowledge with team colleagues and broader teams to learn lessons to reduce incidents in the future.

Essential:

* An active DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role.
* You can show an awareness of developing process efficiency and common ways in which processes are optimised. You can support specific activities to improve development processes. You can spot or identify obvious deficiencies.
* You can diagnose and prioritise incidents, investigate their causes and find resolutions.
* You can initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems.
* You can determine the appropriate remedy and assist with its implementation. You can determine preventative measures.

Desirable:

* You can track, log and correct information to protect assets and components.
* You can show an awareness of availability and capacity management processes.
* You can implement changes based on requests for change. You can apply change control procedures.
* You can show an awareness of the IT standard continuity management processes and procedures.
