Job Description
General Summary:
The International Business Engagement Lead - CF is a key technology business partner in ensuring that the Vertex International business can achieve their ambitious goals in Cystic Fibrosis and beyond. This role will implement and maintain strong relationships across Commercial teams, understand the business domain, and is accountable for articulating the technology roadmap to achieve business outcomes. Excellence in relationship management, demand management, strategic planning, matrix collaboration, and clear communications are key skills required to delivering consolidated roadmaps, identifying business needs, and implementing innovative solutions for a growing Vertex International business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become a trusted partner of the business leaders within their remit, understanding their needs and vision.
- Engage as a key participant in the strategic business planning process.
- Design, implement and manage effective technology governance processes for the business areas within their remit, including demand management, prioritisation, and dependency mapping.
- Act as the DTE escalation point for projects and operations.
- Articulate and maintain a technology roadmap to support and advance the business' objective, factoring in an understanding of future directions of the business, as well as changes in the technology landscape.
- Ensure DTE work is prioritized, conduct dependency mapping across activities, and drive risk & issue mitigation.
- Advocate for the needs of the International business whilst maintaining alignment with global DTE processes.
- Provide advice, suggestions on how processes can be improved, and lead change management, where required.
- Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth and specialized knowledge in the core disciplines of project management, business analysis, and demand management.
- Significant experience in building productive partnerships with business stakeholders, negotiating & influencing, and relationship management.
- In-depth and specialized understanding of the business, processes, and any appropriate regulatory environments.
- Results oriented manager with a proven track record of on-time project delivery for large, complex projects with global stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to present in a clear and concise manner to all audiences.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, including the development of business cases/ value propositions.
- Substantial program/ project management, demand management, resource management and system life cycle expertise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities including development of business case / value propositions.
- Proven capabilities in people management and building high-performing teams.
- Prior experience with running IT managed services or outsourced/ offshore teams.
- Superior MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint Experience.
- Strong experience in Agile methodology.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent.
- Typically requires 8 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Flex Eligibility Status:
In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
