Your new company
You will be working within Higher Education, based South of Birmingham. You will act as an invigilator for university exams and will play a crucial part in the examination period. You must be a reliable candidate and commit to the shifts booked in for. The exam period will run 6th January to 17th January. Ideally, you will be free to attend each day during that period. Please note, you may only be required to work in the mornings, so you must be able to commit to the rota.
Your new role
You will manage queries raised by candidates and deal with examination irregularities in accordance with university procedures. You will check exam materials to ensure all required resources are present. You will assist with setting up exam rooms by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with the outlined procedures. You will make announcements to students and inform them of all the rules during the examination, such as no talking, no mobile phones etc. You will be asked to check attendance during the exams and collate all exam materials at the end. There is free on-site parking on a first come, first served basis.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have previous invigilating experience, however, but this is not essential. You must be a reliable candidate who can commit to all the shifts booked. For those applicants with invigilator experience, there is an opportunity to act as Lead Invigilator, which will come with slightly more responsibility and a higher hourly rate.
What you'll get in return
You will receive an hourly rate of £12.86 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. You will have the opportunity to invigilate for them on other occasions throughout the year should all run as smoothly as hoped.
